The 58 Super Sport stands at the intersection of the latest trends in
naval architecture and engineering, some of which have been pioneered
in Ocean’s recent models. She has a sheltered cockpit mezzanine,
for example, introduced on our 73 Super Sport and, later, adapted for
our 54 Super Sport. It oversees the sportfishing drama, or cockpit “play.” Up
on the impressive flybridge, a center-console helm creates a fluid space,
which also characterizes the main-cabin layout, where salon, galley,
and dinette areas are integrated.
The 58 SS rides dry and smooth in roughest sea conditions on Ocean’s
refinement of the planing hull – acknowledged by many to be the
most seaworthy hullform in production yachting. Unique pocketed propeller
tunnels, designed for use with an ordinary trim-tab system, admit the
yacht to shallow passages. The yacht is easily captained by her owners.
At times, however, even the most dedicated skipper may wish to turn over
the wheel to a captain; the 58 SS’s third stateroom and head accommodates
two crew members in comfort.
Offshore travelers enjoy comforts and amenities seldom encountered on
comparable boats – in part because of Ocean’s insistence
on offering more standard equipment than any competitive manufacturer.
The elegant teak-accented salon is graced with rich furnishings and deluxe
entertainment equipment. The new U-shaped galley has everything needed
to appease salt air-sharpened appetites. The separate dinette is expansive
and convenient within the 58 SS’s fluid main-deck plan.
Few yachts this size have been so perfectly engineered for sportfishing.
Or extended offshore living. The 58 Super Sport represents, in the sum
of her innovations, the new Ocean. She demonstrates the company’s
commitment to produce sportfising boats that will leave boaters breathless
with admiration and competitors breathlessly trying to catch up. |
