Dana
Brandt has his professional
roots in the automotive and marine aftermarket business. His successes and
trials as both business owner and more recently sales/marketing manager have
well prepared him for the new career challenge of Yacht Brokerage. Dana and
his wife Lori live in Plymouth, MA, and share a passion for boating that began
(for those who may remember) with a build-it-yourself skiff from Armstrong Boats
in Norwell, MA. Since those days a few boats have come and gone, and many hours
have been logged sharing adventures and creating memories investigating the
waters of Cape Cod and the islands.

My dad shared his love of the water and all things marine with an eager child
who came to love and respect our precious marine resources. At a very early
age I learned how and where to dig shellfish, row a skiff and operate a
power boat. After a succession of skiffs and run-a-bouts my dad purchased
a Grady White on which he and I shared much of our free time fishing and
cruising from Westport Harbor to Cuttyhunk, the Vineyard and over to Nomans.
We regularly fished the rocky coastline from Gooseberry Island to Newport
with the area between Westport and Little Compton became our favorite striper
fishing grounds. On most days I would run the boat to and from our location
and on the return trip while dad cleaned our catch. I love to fish and boat
and have been featured in the Fisherman magazine, On The Water magazine and
on several occasions in the Herald News. As a wife and mother I made it a
point to introduce our children to boating and fishing and they took to it
like a duck to water. We live on the water on the East Branch of the Westport
River where my husband and I dock our Boston Whaler. Boating and fishing
are wonderful and relaxing recreational pursuits and I achieve a great deal
of pleasure whenever we have the opportunity to introduce others to pleasure
of boating.

My boating experience began in 1952, fishing and boating with my grandfather
on Narragansett Bay, RI. We built a 12' row boat and a 26' wooden cruiser
during the years 0f 1952-1954. I have been boating and fishing ever since.
I now own a 37' Pearson Arundel that I have restored and fully maintain.
I have cruised the East Coast waters from Maine, south to the Florida keys.
I have also cruised the Hudson River and the New York lock system to the
lake regions. I have a Master Captain's 100 Ton license and have piloted
boats to and from Florida. I have served a four year apprenticeship at the
Bethlehem Shipyard, instructing me in machinery, boilers and main propulsion
systems, both installation and operations and sea trial testing. For 10
years, I was co-owner of a wholesale marine and chemical supply company
in Hingham, Ma. I have extensive experience in repairing boats including
mechanical systems, fiberglass hulls and complete restorations.
